About Us and Our Editorial Policy
Quick Answer
SecureSpend Guide is an independent informational website that explains how prepaid cards work in plain English. We are not SecureSpend, its issuer, or its program manager. We do not sell cards or handle accounts. We do not publish reviews, ratings or figures we cannot verify.
Who we are
SecureSpend Guide is a small independent publication that explains prepaid cards in plain English for U.S. consumers. We started it because cardholders often struggle to find clear, neutral answers to simple questions: How do I activate this? Why was it declined? Where did part of my balance go? Is this balance-check site safe? Search results for these questions are crowded with confusing pages and, too often, scam sites built to steal card numbers.
Our goal is simple. We want every SecureSpend cardholder to be able to use the card confidently, understand what it costs, and recognize scams before they lose money.
Our independence
Independent informational guide. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SecureSpend or its issuer. All trademarks belong to their owners.
We don't sell prepaid cards, don't process payments, and have no access to any cardholder account. We use the SecureSpend name only to describe the product our guides are about. We don't use SecureSpend's logos or card artwork. Our illustrations are original, generic designs.
Editorial policy
Accuracy first
We base our guides on publicly available information: card packaging and disclosures, Cardholder Agreements, the official SecureSpend website, and U.S. federal rules and consumer guidance from agencies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. When a detail depends on the specific card or issuer, such as a fee amount, a limit or a procedure, we say so and mark it with a "Verify on the official site" note rather than guessing.
No invented numbers
We don't publish fee amounts, statistics or figures we can't verify from a reliable source. If we don't know a number, we tell you where to find it.
No fake social proof
We don't publish reviews, star ratings, testimonials or "user counts". We believe these are too easily faked to be useful to readers.
Security by design
We never ask for card numbers, PINs, security codes or personal financial information, and the site has no forms that could collect them. Every link to the official SecureSpend website is clearly marked and opens in a new tab.
Plain language
We write for real people, not search engines. We explain financial terms the first time we use them, keep instructions step-by-step, and put the most important answer at the top of every guide.
Not advice
Our content is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice. For decisions about your own situation, consult a qualified professional. See our disclaimer.
How we update content
Prepaid card terms change. We review guides regularly, and immediately when a reader reports a problem or we learn of a change. Each page shows a "Last updated" date. We update that date only when we make meaningful changes to the content, not for cosmetic edits.
Corrections policy
If you think something on this site is wrong, please tell us at [email protected]. Include the page address and, if possible, a source. We review every report. When we confirm an error, we correct it promptly and update the page's date.
How we're funded
SecureSpend Guide currently carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links, and we receive no payment from any card company. If we ever introduce advertising or affiliate relationships, we will disclose them clearly, keep them separate from editorial content, and update this page and our privacy policy first.
Get in touch
Questions, suggestions or corrections are welcome. See our contact page. Please remember that we can't help with individual card accounts. Only SecureSpend customer service can do that.
